Ambulatory Family Medicine Elective Rotation for Medical Students
Family Health Centers of San Diego offers an outpatient elective rotation in Family Medicine for fourth year medical students. This elective rotation is based at the Family Medicine Residency Clinic at City Heights Family Health Center. Students are paired with senior residents or Family Medicine teaching faculty and will gain exposure to primary care for the medically underserved patient population unique to FHCSD. Students will also spend Wednesday afternoons attending didactics with the Family Medicine residents.
Rotation Dates AY2021-22:
The elective rotation is two weeks in length and is offered during the months of mid-August through October. The rotation dates for AY2021-22 are as follows:
- August 16 – 27, 2021
- August 30 – September 10, 2021
- September 13 – 24, 2021
- September 27 – October 8, 2021
- October 11 – 22, 2021
There is a high demand for this rotation, with only 5 two-week elective rotation slots available each year in the fall. Interested students must complete and submit an application in order to be considered.
