Mikhael Andaya, M.D.Tufts University School of Medicine
Mikhael was born in the Philippines and moved to San Diego at a young age. In 2008, he graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a bachelor’s in integrative biology and later moved to Boston to attend Tufts University. He earned his M.S. in biomedical sciences in 2013 and his M.D. in 2018. His professional interests include underserved populations, community health and medical education. When he’s not working, he enjoys basketball, swimming, cooking and Sudoku.
Austin Bagingito, M.D., MPHAlbany Medical College
A Southern California native, Austin attended UCLA, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in physiological science in 2011. In 2014, he earned his MPH with a concentration in epidemiology from the Drexel University Dornsife School of Public Health and earned his M.D. from Albany Medical College in 2018. He was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society in 2017, and his professional interests include preventive medicine, management of chronic illnesses, mental health and substance abuse. He enjoys rock climbing, basketball, golf and water polo, as well as cooking and spending time with his family and girlfriend.
Adam Bortner, M.D.University of Maryland School of Medicine
Originally from Baltimore, Adam attended Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania where he earned his bachelor’s degree in sociology and anthropology with a minor in biology in 2012. In 2018, he earned his M.D. from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He is a member of the Arnold P. Gold Foundation’s Humanism Honor Society, and his professional interests include HIV medicine, LGBTQ health and care for Latino and other immigrant communities. In his spare time, Adam enjoys making and listening to music, discovering new cities and dishes and advocating for health care for all.
Beau Bourgette, M.D., DPTUniversity of California, San Diego
A Southern California native, Beau traveled back and forth between L.A. and San Diego to continue his education. In 2009, he earned his bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University and in 2012, he earned his DPT degree from the University of Southern California. He returned south to attend the University of California, San Diego and earned his M.D. in 2018. His professional interests include underserved populations and sports medicine and his free time is spent surfing, working out and playing tennis.
Hyun Chun (Billy), M.D.Stony Brook University School of Medicine
Originally from South Korea, Billy attended the University of California San Diego where he earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees in biochemistry and biology. He earned his M.D. from Stony Brook University School of Medicine and was awarded the Sarnoff Cardiovascular Research Fellowship in 2015. Billy’s medical interests include integrative and community medicine and mindfulness, and in his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his friends and family.
Cristina Resczenski, D.O., MPHRowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine
Born and raised in Florida, Cristina graduated from the University of Florida where she earned her B.S. in zoology. She later went on to earn her MPH in epidemiology from Drexel University Dornsife School of Public Health. Continuing her education, she earned her D.O. from the Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine and was awarded the J.T. Tai Foundation Scholarship and the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Trainee Fellowship Program for Urban Challenges. Her career interests include women’s and LGBTQ health, and she enjoys hiking, cooking, scuba diving, reading and knitting in her spare time.
